Chorunnal Happened
I had been waiting for a long time for this. Everytime I looked at someone's plate of food I was told to wait for my "Chorunnal".

The great day finally dawned. I was whisked away to the base of Chamundi Hills in Mysore, to a "Guruvayoor Temple" where my Achacha and Achamma had already made arrangements.
It started on a happy note because they removed my clothes. hen they wrapped a mundu around me which was also fine. But then a whole lot of strangers kept coming up to me and talking to me and pinching my cheeks. Adding insult to injury, I was made to pose with various people and my trigger happy dad kept clicking pictures. Talk about child abuse.
Anyway, I was finally made to sit on Abhi-Pa's lap and he tried to feed me something. I am not sure what exactly happened but there were some twenty hands pushing things into my face and I decided to howl away to glory hoping they'll stop. They did stop...after a while.
All said and done. I thought the ordeal was over when we came back home and was looking forward to some good food when they repeated the same face-stuffing activity all over again. And to top it all, I got nothing to eat other than the standard "pala" and Cerelac and Ragi. So much for Chorunnal. Hope things improve soon.

28th Day Ceremony
Apparently the 28th day after I was born seems to have some significance. I had been overhearing numerous arguments discussions and fights about what should be done, booking some hall, to call or not to call someone and so on.
In any case, the D-Day was on 21st June and by 20th evening I had decided that if I did not take charge and take steps to protect myself, I would be at the receiving end of numerous ministrations which threatened to be torturous. So I slept through the whole event.

My stint in Wockhardt
One thing I hate about the room (where I stayed for 2 days after I was born) was a cage they kept putting me in everytime I fell asleep. And if I protested...I was taken away by this lady in blue and fed. Not too bad though...now I know how to get food...Cry!
Anyway, this Papa guy kept staring at me and insisted on clicking my pictures. Hasn't he heard of privacy?
I was born...
...on 25th May 2007. Not very long ago, you may think, but for me...its been a lot!!!
The earliest memories I have is when I was in a dark cosy place and I used to hear lots of sounds...some pleasant and some jarring. Sometimes there was lot of movement and sometimes no movement at all.
I was rudely thrown out of this place on fine day and I will never forget the screaming that I heard when this happened. Lady, you have some vocals! Of course soon after I came out into the light there was a blurry confusion of people talking, groping, cleaning, and before I could figure out what was happening, I was wrapped up in something soft and put in a place away from all the hustle and quite warm.
Then I fell asleep.
